SpaceX’s Crew-2 started its journey to the International Space station this Friday.
The Crew-2 is conformed by the NASA astronauts Shane Kimbrough and Megan McArthur. They will be joined by Thomas Pesquet from French Space Agency, and Akihiko Hoshide from Japan. They will be on the mission for six months.
The Falcon 9 spaceship launched from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida at 5:49 A.M. This is the second mission with the Falcon 9 and astronauts.
Steve Jurczyk, NASA Administrator said, “I couldn’t be more proud of the Commercial Crew Program, and the SpaceX team, and the NASA team and what they’ve been able to do to enable reliable, safe, effective transportation to and from station”.
This is the first time that SpaceX reuses a rocket and capsule for a mission.
